This is the way Harald Tunheim describes his lead dog Freyr. Earlier during the race Harald evaluated to take him out of the race. But when the team came to Karasjok this afternoon, it was Freyr again leading the way. Tomorrow it can be Freyr that decides the race.

On the ground in Karasjok one can see the clumsy gentleman Freyr and does not quite know whether or not he can be bothered to eat right now. The other dogs are placed around lie there and swallow the food in big chunks. Cow stomach is food too, seems to be their thought. It does not seem like Freyr is totally agreeing.

- He does not like to eat cow stomach, but I have some trout with me and that has been the salvation, says Harald Tunheim and holds pieces of fish up to Freys snout.

Harald looks relieved when Freyr starts eating the trout. The dog has been eating and drinking badly throughout the whole race. In Varangerbotn it went so far that he was almost taken out of the race.

But Harald decided to take the black and white spotted male do with him, at the end of the team.

-I wanted to have him with me, Freyr i my best leader and can be the deciding factor towards the end, explains Harald .

Now Freyr chews satisfied on his trout and is in much better shape.

Over three years Freyr was the only dog to follow Hrald on his many mountain trips. So often that they bild up a trust, from dog to owner, and he is now the best dog to listen to the commands. And also Harald admits that it is an unlucky situation that Freyr does not like to eat when he is tired and stressed, he knows that he is indisposable in many other areas.

- Freyr is an incredibly honest dog. Hard working, strong and absolutely trustworthy. He has drive and stamina when the others are about to give up.

At the same time he has a sensitive soul. A real gentleman who never gets himself into trouble.
