Finnmarksløpet's homepage passed for the first time in history 1 million hits in one day on Tuesday. There was enormous interest for the end of the 500 km race.

Finnmarksløpet's homepage rules! When Hilde Askildt, Katy Meier and Jan Øystein Dervo fought for victory in the FL500 the number of hits was 1 149 746. This is an increase of 46 percent compared to last years numbers. In 2004 the FL500 ended on the Monday and the number of visits on the homepage was 785 944.

Yesterday www.finnmarkslopet.no had 828 204 visits. This is an increase of 58 percent compared to last year. There is reason to believe that the million-record will be beat on Friday when the FL1000 crosses the finish line.

A total of 3 878 525 clicks have been registered on the homepage in March. Even the day before the race started 86 521 hits were registered. This is also an increase compared to 2004.

The number of hits is a registration of how many times each user clicks on the internet. When one person clicks on four different articles it is registered as four hits. The system does not count how many persons who have visited the web-page. However, it is probable that more than 30 000 persons have visited the page during the race. Not only visited. Many also leave a message or comment in the guestbook. We look forward to hearing from you!
