This morning at 05:41 the 37th musher of the Finnmarksløpet 500 km race crossed the finish line and gave the race its happy ending. Kristine Jerijærvi was extremely happy when she an her 5 dogs finally reached Alta. She needed a total of 3 days, 17 hours and 41 minutes. Congratulations!

She had been going together with the Italian Henry Coronica from Suossjavre on. Towards the end of the race he accelerated a bit and reached the finish line at 05:34. Both of them celebrated when they received the rookie award for a successful finish. A "crowd" of 12 people had gathered to welcome them back. After the check by the teknisk delegert the final steps for the 500 km race were taken. The times are in the computer and all the mushers are relaxing and looking forward to the banquet on saturday.

And many of them follow eagerly the close race in the 1000km. Some of them even went out to the checkpoints to be able to now follow the race as a spectator. Others check the internet and our service, but one thing is certain:

a lot of them will be there to greet the winner of the 1000km race sometime tonight.
