Arnhild Nilssen, the partner of Roger Dahl, is very affected about the previous achievement of Roger in Finnmarksløpet 1000. He was the first who reached Kirkenes two hours in front of Harald Tunheim, as we reported before. "I am so happy. Roger deserves a good position. He coached his team by himself and spent a lot of time with the dogs." told Arnhild.

Roger Dahl can be called as Mr. Finnmarksløp. No other musher took part as often as Roger and no other has done as many as he for Finnmarksløp. This year he takes part the 19th time, furthermore he had worked as responsible person for Finnmarksløp for weeks and month.

Roger took part in the race the first time in 1983. In this year he had only sheep-dogs in his team and it turned out to be the only time he did not cross the finish line. He managed to win Finnmarksløp only one time in 1992, but he got several second, third, forth and fifth placings. But not only Arnhild will grant Roger the victory.

Did you notice something special about Roger before he started this year?

"Yes, I have. Roger was very inspirational and happy during the days before the start. I think he had a very good feeling. He returned from his training trips with a smile in his face during the whole winter. He was very happy and impressed by the dogs excellent achievement."

As expected

Trond Ørslien, our expert commentator, stated Roger Dahl as one of the favourites in this years' race. "Roger has already been very good in Fermundløp. This year he went his best Fermundløp ever. Therefore it is not suprising, that roger wants to have a good position in the end." told Ørslien.

For the answer of the question who used his dogs in the best way, we have to wait until the teams are on their way back from Neiden to Levajok. "The teams on top of the race chose different strategies about taking the mandatory 16 hours rest. Until know everything is as expected, but it can happen a lot until the mushers have finished the race.
