The lead is almost gone

Roger Dahl had been trying to build up a good lead by taking the mandatory rest early in the race and then avoiding a long stop between Skippagurra and Kirkenes. But the lead he had has been shrinking because otf the high speed of Tunheims team on the trail, and his smaller need for rest the last day. Shortly past two o'clock Roger left Neiden afer a five hour rest and started out towards the next checkpoint in Varangerbotn. But only one hour later Tunheim was already on his way after a five hour rest. The question is whether or not Harald will continue to be faster than Roger. If so, it will be a close call who will reach the checkpoint in the lead.

A little bit further back we have many mushers that are going fast. Especially Petter Jahnsen can match the speed of Harald easil and has been going some minutes faster on the stretch from Krkenes to Neiden. He is now about two hours behind Tunheim, and three behnd Dahl.

Tore Bergby, Eirik Nilsen, May-Conny Johansen, Hans-Petter Dalby and not in the least Kjell Brennodden, are going well. But only Kjell can match almost the speed of Harald and Petter, while not really catching up. All in all you should not forget about Ralph Johannesen when looking at the leaders, but at the moment he is going too slow to clearly make an impression.
