The registration office
There will be a registration office in Studenthuset City, Downtown Alta, every day from Tuesday before race start 11:00 am until Thursday 14.00.

Registration
Entrants must do a personal registration before the Musher meeting Thursday, two days before race starts.

• A list of the dogs with manes and chip numbers. In FL-1000 maximum 16 dog names, and in FL-500 maximum 10 dog names and in the junior class - maximum 8 dog names. Download Doglist, Doglist - name and chipnumber
  

• The Statement signed by the musher. The statement may be downloaded, Statement musher

• Maps with the trail traced will be found here

• Also the mandatory spare food for the dogs must be controlled and weighed here.

• All foreign mushers must submit documentation of the import date and approved vaccination - see information on veterinary pages
• Show valid DID for the World Championship.
  

Pre race check (mandatory)
Mandatory pre race check of all dogs participating in FL wil be done wednesday and friday week before start. Entrants will be informed about time and place by e-mail.

Prizes

Moneyprizes - other prizes - travelling trophies.
There are separate awards for all mushers who complete their race in a round number. Ex 5, 10 and 15 years.

The Finnmarksløpet plaque

All first time mushers who complete the race will recieve a plaque made out of Alta slate, with the Finnmarkløpet race logo milled in. The size of the slate plaque is 35 X 45 cm (13,7 x 17,5 inches).

Newcomers: You are considered a "Rookie" in the class you participate until you have completed the class.

 

Showrace (FL-1000)

All entrants in the 1000 class must do a show race with a limited team Friday before race starts. Details will be send by e-mail.

Checkpoints

There will be no organized sleeping areas for the handlers at the checkpoint. Mushers and handlers who wants their own rooms/ cabins must organize that themselves. Finnmarksløpet will organize some sleeping areas for the mushers at the checkpoints. Fuel are to be sold at some of the checkpoints. Info about this at the mushers meeting and in the infokiosk.

Food drop leftover/left dogs.

We kindly ask all handlers to take care of their mushers leftovers and left dogs after teh mushers have leaved the checkpoint. Any leftover bags that are not packed, secured, and tagged with mushers name are considered garbage.

Handler car/handlers

Finnmarksløpet suggest all mushers have a vehicle capable of hauling the dog team and two handlers. One handler per musher must meet at the mushers meeting.

Maps

All mushers are requiered to carry along a complete set of map series M711/Statkart covering the trail. The maps can be bought in most Norwegian book stores.

We can not guarantee that the book stores in Alta have enough maps the last days before the race. Order in advance. There will be no sale of maps at the mushers meeting.

Note: It is possible to skip the maps in the M711 series in favor of a GPS with the route, and a map in scale 1:250 000 with drawing of the route.
